Kelrova vs. Snyk Code: where each fits.
Both look for vulnerabilities in the code your team writes. Kelrova runs AI security scans of whole repositories in its cloud; Snyk Code is the SAST tool in Snyk's platform, with scans in the IDE, the CLI, CI pipelines and pull requests.

The short answer
Kelrova and Snyk Code both find vulnerabilities in first-party code; the difference is where and how they look. Snyk Code is a static application security testing (SAST) tool that checks code in your IDE, CLI, CI pipeline and pull requests, beside Snyk's dependency, container and IaC products. Kelrova runs AI security scans in its own cloud: AI models read the whole repository at the coverage level you pick, report each finding with its evidence, and open a draft fix pull request when a member asks.
Side by side: what each one does.
Kelrova's column comes from its own documentation, Snyk's from Snyk's public documentation.
| Topic | KelrovaAI security scans in Kelrova's cloud | Snyk CodeThe SAST product in Snyk's platform |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | ||
| What it is | AI security scans of whole repositories, run in Kelrova's cloud, not on your machine or CI runner. | Snyk's static application security testing (SAST) product. It scans code in IDEs, repositories, CI/CD pipelines and the web UI. |
| How it finds issues | ||
| How it finds issues | AI models read the repository at the level you pick, from the files changed since the last scan to every entry point, application and config file. Each finding comes with its evidence and fix guidance. | A semantic, AI-based analysis engine that tracks data flow from source to sink, with AI-based learning of sources, sinks and sanitizers. |
| Secrets | ||
| Secrets | Secrets in code are reported as findings. | Hardcoded-secret rules run in SAST scans; Snyk says they are not a standalone secrets scanner. Snyk Secrets is a separate product. |
| Code hosts | ||
| Code hosts | GitHub, GitLab.com and Bitbucket Cloud. Self-managed GitLab and Bitbucket Data Center are not supported. | GitHub and GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Bitbucket Server and Bitbucket Cloud, and Azure Repos. Snyk Broker connects a self-hosted Git server. |
| Setup | ||
| Setup | Link a repository in the Kelrova portal. Scans run in Kelrova's cloud, by hand or on a schedule, with no CI change. | SaaS with native Git integration, SaaS with a self-hosted Git server through Snyk Broker, or the no-upload Snyk Code Local Engine. IDE extensions for JetBrains, Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio; the CLI scans locally or in CI. |
| Pull requests | ||
| Pull requests | No checks on your team's pull requests. Merge gates can review Kelrova's own fix pull requests before you merge them. | PR checks analyze code changes for new issues. Whether a failed check blocks the merge is set in your source control platform; by default PR tests are optional. |
| Fixes | ||
| Fixes | Go Fix opens a draft pull request on GitHub or Bitbucket, or a draft merge request on GitLab, when a member asks. A re-check confirms the fix once it is merged. | The Remediation Agent (Early Access) applies Snyk Agent Fix suggestions from a coding assistant or the CLI, then rescans and runs your tests; those flows do not open pull requests. Pull requests come from remediation campaigns in Evo by Snyk. |
| AI coding agents | ||
| AI coding agents | A hosted MCP server lets AI coding agents list and read findings, report what they fixed and request a re-check. It never starts scans. | Snyk's agent integrations run Snyk Code, Open Source and IaC scans from an agent through the local Snyk MCP server, which ships with the Snyk CLI. |
Information from Snyk's documentation, checked October 21, 2026:
Where Snyk is stronger
Snyk Code sits in a wider platform and meets developers where they write code. If these matter most, Snyk is the better fit.
Scans while you code
Extensions for JetBrains IDEs, Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio, and a CLI that scans before a commit. Kelrova scans the repository after the code is pushed.
Checks on every pull request
PR checks on each code change, which your source control platform can make blocking. Kelrova's merge gates can review only its own fix pull requests.
More than first-party code
Snyk Open Source, Container, IaC and Secrets sit beside Snyk Code. Kelrova is not a dependency, container or IaC scanner.
A published language list
Snyk lists the languages Snyk Code supports, including Apex, COBOL, Dart and Flutter, and Groovy.
Self-hosted Git and no-upload options
Snyk Broker reaches self-hosted Git servers, and Snyk Code Local Engine scans without uploading code. Kelrova runs in its cloud.
When to choose which
The two answer different questions and can be used together: Snyk for dependency and pull request checks, Kelrova for periodic whole-repository review.
Choose Snyk when
- You want security feedback in the IDE while you code.
- You want a check on every pull request.
- You need dependency, container or IaC scanning on one platform.
- Your code lives on a self-hosted Git server.
Choose Kelrova when
- You want a cloud scan that reads the whole repository like a reviewer.
- You want each finding reported with its evidence.
- You want a draft fix pull request when you ask for one.
- You want Adversary scans that record every step of an attack path.

Is Kelrova an alternative to Snyk?
For first-party code security review, Kelrova can be used instead of Snyk Code or next to it: its AI security scans read the whole repository and report each finding with its evidence. It does not replace Snyk's dependency (Open Source), container or IaC products, which Kelrova does not offer.
Does Kelrova have an IDE plugin like Snyk?
No. Kelrova runs scans in its cloud and shows findings in the portal, by email and to your AI coding agent through the MCP server. Snyk has extensions for JetBrains IDEs, Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio.
Does Kelrova open fix pull requests?
Yes, when a member asks: a draft pull request on GitHub or Bitbucket, a draft merge request on GitLab. Snyk's Remediation Agent is in Early Access, and its IDE and CLI flows do not open pull requests; Snyk opens them through remediation campaigns in Evo.
Can Kelrova scan code on a self-hosted Git server?
No. Kelrova supports GitHub, GitLab.com and Bitbucket Cloud. Snyk connects self-hosted Git servers through Snyk Broker.
