# The run page while a scan runs

What the run page shows while a scan is running: findings so far by severity, review progress, possible duplicates, and how to cancel.

*Where in the portal: Security → Scans → open a run*

*Last updated: 2026-10-21*

Open a run from Security → Scans and the page follows it as it goes. It shows the findings reported so far by severity and how much of the project has been reviewed.

*Security → Scans → open a run*

## Findings by severity

The Summary card counts the new findings so far. The Findings by severity pane has one row per severity, and each row can show up to four groups:

- **New.** First reported by this scan.
- **Known.** Already reported by an earlier scan.
- **Resolved.** Fixed since the last scan. Counted with the final result.
- **Possible duplicate.** Looks like one already reported.

A callout flags new critical and high findings. Each finding the scan reports also appears in the run's timeline, with its severity, title, file and line.

*A running Standard scan: findings so far by severity, the review meter and the share of selected files reviewed.*

## Possible duplicates

A finding that looks like one already reported is a possible duplicate. A repeat of an earlier finding is a duplicate. Neither counts as new, and the pane says so: "Not counted as new: N possible duplicates · M duplicates of earlier findings".

On a finished run they are marked "Possible duplicate" and "Duplicate" in the list, after the new findings, so you can review them. Nothing is merged for you.

## Review progress

The Measured quality section moves while the scan runs. It leads with a headline, "N% of selected files reviewed", then a bar and the file counts, "N of N files". Below them, **Review areas** shows reviewed areas out of the total. The timeline's review meter counts the same areas.

Adversary and re-verify runs do not show these figures. A re-verify run has its own pane, described in [Re-verify earlier findings](https://kelrova.com/docs/scans/re-verify).

You do not need to refresh. The page updates as the scan reports.

## Who sees what

Counts show for everyone with access to the project. Finding titles and the review figures need permission to view findings.

## Cancel a scan

Only one scan runs per project at a time. To stop one, choose **Cancel scan** on its run page. A dialog asks "Cancel scan?" and says that findings reported so far are kept and nothing is resolved. Choose **Cancel scan** again to stop it, or **Keep running** to leave it. After you confirm, the button reads "Cancelling…".

A cancelled scan cannot be continued. Every scan starts over. See [Complete, partial and cancelled runs](https://kelrova.com/docs/scans/outcomes).

## When it finishes

Whoever started the scan gets an email when it finishes, unless they turned that email off. The run page then shows the final result for the same scan.
